This is an excellent opportunity to join a top tier organisation as the Head of the Research team. The position is very high profile requiring someone with proven leadership skills and knowledge of the Fund Research sector.

You will manage the Fund Research team in Europe, with responsibility for setting and executing the analytical and operational elements of the business plan, managing the quality and integrity of the products in conjunction with the Global Co-Heads of Fund Services, and directly managing/mentoring the analytical team based in Europe (currently 13).

This position is to be the primary research interface with all product manufacturing clients and support the servicing of wealth management clients.
 
 
Key responsibilities:
Leadership and management of the Fund Research team across European offices:
1. Day-to-day management of the analytical team to ensure the delivery of full ratings coverage in accordance with required cycle speeds, levels of service quality, analytical rigour and expected productivity levels,  including implementing team and operational process improvements to continuously improve the client experience and the value of the final product.
2. Determine appropriate key performance indicators and reporting
3.Identify the changing staffing capacity and competence needs to support a changing business model and expansion into new products
 

  • Chair the European Technical Standards Committee (TSC) under the direction of the Chair of the Global TSC and provide oversight and stewardship of analytical standards for ratings and research, including developing criteria, improving depth and breadth of research, managing implementation, compliance,  and working in collaboration with their counterpart in Australia towards a consistent global model.
  • Participate in analytical reviews of investment products and committees as a senior resource, including chairing selected committees as required
  • Primary interface with Product Development, Operations, Sales and Marketing teams to ensure an integrated approach is taken to deliver a standardized service to clients and to contribute and participate in efforts to identify new research and opportunities/products to grow the business, particularly as they expand the wealth management offering 
  • Act as a key spokesperson and author for the firm on research and and themes by:
  • Coordinating investment communications in collaboration with Chief Investment Strategist for Funds, and Marketing
  • Supporting initiatives to promote business externally, including participation at pitches to wealth management groups, client professional development days, client conferences, and market conferences

Requirements:

  • Solid, demonstrable management experience in a similar role involving a high level of analytical management, direction and judgment. It is essential to have team management experience.
  • Previous financial markets/capital markets experience with significant industry knowledge. Thsi should be a from a research/product structuring background with strong knowledge of Investment Products.
  • Strong mentoring capabilities, advocate of team working and talent development
  • Qualifications in Business, Economics, Finance or a related area with postgraduate study advantageous.
  • Superior knowledge of investment product offerings in the local market with extensive experience and highly developed analytical skills in investment product research.
  • Process and project management skills to successfully manage the high volume of deals, processes, systems implementation and allocation of current and future workflow.
  • Highly developed client relationship skills to lead and promote the business and generate positive business outcomes for the firm's franchise.
  • Change management skills.
  • Communication skills , particularly the ability to ask the right questions and elicit information required and manage expectations.
  • Negotiating and influencing skills.
