Title: Legal Director

Location: Hong Kong Island

Salary: Excellent, depending on experience

Requirements:

* Currently working within the Financial Services, Insurance , Insurance Agency, Legal Practice firm (with a specialisation on insurance or general corporate law).

*Able to work independently to solve day-to-day legal issues and challenges. Partnering with Regional Teams and external legal resources to solve complex and often unusual legal issues.

*Provide competent and expert research and advice to business related legal matters within the banking , finance or insurance industry

*Able to establish good relationships with local regulators, and goverment bodies and officials

*Continuous development, monitoring and reporting of legal guidelines and protocols. Updating business units managers of  legal and compliance risks

*Imporve the effectiveness  of legal-side, risk management processes and controls within the business operations

*Provide guidance and approval of the selection of outside counsel anl asreview and sign-off  external counsel invoices

Educational Experence & Qualification

*A law degree from a recognised and reputable educational institution. Admitted to practice law in Hong Kong.

*Minimum of 5 years PQE with a law firm, multinational insurance or financial services organisation with international prestige

*Experience in general corporate  and commerical practice with a good understanding of drafting insurance policy related documents

*Good exposure with the Insurance, Insurance -Agency, Employment, Company,and Corporate Tenancy law

*Team Player- Excellent Communication Skills ( both in English & Cantonese - written & spoken)

*Strategic Thinking and Client Focussed
